Dr. Sasan Jafarnejad is an AI researcher specializing in multimodal large language models, agentic systems, and intelligent mobility. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Ubiquitous and Intelligent Systems group at the University of Luxembourg’s Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT).
His current work explores geospatial reasoning, human–vehicle collaboration, and applied AI for transportation. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Luxembourg, where his research focused on machine-learning methods for driver modeling and behavior analysis.
Before returning to research, Sasan served as Chief Technology Officer at Motion-S. He led the modernization of the company’s technology stack and development of a new API platform. That experience continues to shape his approach: research questions should be rigorous, but the systems built around them must also survive contact with the real world.
