Dr. Sasan Jafarnejad is an AI scientist specializing in multimodal large language models, agentic systems, and intelligent mobility. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Ubiquitous and Intelligent Systems group at the University of Luxembourg’s Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT), where his work explores geospatial reasoning, human-vehicle collaboration, and applied AI for transportation. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Luxembourg for research on machine-learning methods for driver modeling and behavior analysis.

His research bridges rigorous AI methods with real-world systems, spanning large language models, information retrieval, on-device AI, vehicular networks, and data-driven mobility. Before returning to research, he served as Chief Technology Officer at Motion-S, where he led technology modernization and the development of a new API platform. This combination of research depth and systems leadership informs his work on dependable, human-centered AI.
